Justice Anwarul Haque dies

NEWS FLASH CORRESPONDENT Justice Anwarul Haque died in a hospital in Dhaka on Thursday. He died while undergoing treatment at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in the capital around 5.30pm. He was the Chairman of International Crimes Tribunal. Mehedi Masud, one of the IT officers of ICT, has confirmed in this connection to Samakal immediately after the death. Justice Anwarul Haque died of cancer and he was brought to Dhaka from Singapore Cancer Hospital on July 5. He was appointed chairman of the International Crimes Tribunal-1 on September 15, 2015.

4 promoted to senior secretaries

News Flash Correspondent A total of four secretaries have been promoted to senior secretaries on Thursday. A notification from the ministry of public administration, has confirmed in this connection on the day. The senior secretaries were appointed at the same place where they worked in previous time. With this four, at total of 13 senior secretaries are working in the administration now. The officials are- Dr Aslam Alam,Yunusur Rahman, Moinuddin Abdullah and Khondkar Anwarul Islam.

Charge sheet against 10-month-old child SI Maruful suspended

News Flash Correspondent Maruful Islam, a sub-inspector of Mirpur Police Station, has been suspended temporarily as he allegedly submitted charge sheet against a 10-month-old baby and a deceased person of a theft case lodged in June last year. The action was taken as per the direction of Inspector General of Police AKM Shahidul Hoque today, says senior information officer of the police headquarters, Kamrul Islam. Khaleda seeks more time in graft case hearing

A four-judge bench, chaired by Chief Justice SK Sinha, delivered the verdict at about 9:10am in the morning pronounced the unanimous decision rejecting his appeal. High Court bars use of Hindi songs as mobile ringtones, welcome tunes
